Xeomin is a neuromodulator made from Botulinum toxin type A. It’s essentially a purified form of the botulinum toxin — unlike Botox and Dysport, which are made from mixtures of proteins. You won’t find additives in Xeomin.
Like other neuromodulators, Xeomin works by temporarily interrupting the signals your brain sends to your muscles when they need to contract. By relaxing the muscles, the injections let your skin look smoother and softer.

By interrupting the signals that tell the muscles in your forehead to contract when you frown, Xeomin helps you maintain smooth skin. Xeomin is most effective for dynamic wrinkles, which are the wrinkles expressions created.
There’s no reason to worry about a frozen or unnatural look when you choose Xeomin injections. Because Xeomin doesn’t have additives, it’s less likely that you’ll begin building a resistance to it — which can happen with Botox.
If you develop a resistance to a formula, you need more of it to get the effects you want, which can make you look less natural than you’d prefer. That’s not a concern with Xeomin.
Xeomin is a faster-acting neuromodulator because there are no added proteins. You can start seeing results in three to five days. In comparison, Botox results can take up to two weeks to fully appear.
Xeomin injections offer longer-lasting results than other types of neuromodulators. Results can last up to six months, while with Botox, you’d need a touch-up after three months.

We always schedule a consultation before your first treatment session. We can address any concerns you may have while also checking to see if Xeomin injections are the right treatment option.
We’ll ask you about your medical history, whether you take any medications and a bit about your skincare routine. Some products can make your skin more sensitive, so we’ll want to know if there’s anything you use on it regularly.
We’ll then consider the treatment area and decide how many units of Xeomin you’ll need and where to inject them.
Come to your Xeomin session without makeup. We will clean the treatment area and can apply topical anesthetics if you’d like them. Once you’re comfortable, we’ll begin the injections.
The process is fast, taking anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the number and size of the treatment areas. You are then free to return to your day.
Avoid massaging, rubbing, or scratching the injection sites for at least four hours because that can dislodge the substance. Don’t participate in strenuous activities, including exercise and lifting heavy objects, for 24 hours, and stay out of hot tubs, saunas, or hot baths for 24 hours. You also want to wait a few days to get a facial.
It’s also best if you don’t lie down for at least four hours so that you give the Xeomin time to settle. The first night after the injections, consider sleeping propped up with an extra pillow.
Within three to five days, you can start seeing results. For some people, these results can last as long as six months, while others may start noticing fine lines creeping back in sooner. When that occurs, schedule a follow-up treatment with us.

Xeomin is a purified version of the toxin that is the main ingredient in these neuromodulators. There are no additives in Xeomin like there are in Botox and Dysport. Xeomin is also faster-acting and longer-lasting than these other neuromodulators.
